A premium driving companion that sets a new standard for safety
TomTom Digital Cockpit users can take full advantage of all the intelligent safety features included in DriverPremium. Drivers simply have to mount their smartphone on the dash, then DriverPremium and TomTom take it from there: turning the device into a dash cam that’s fully integrated with the vehicle’s OS.
Not only do users gain the ability to record everything on the road, they also get the added benefit of real-time safety alerts. These include audio and visual notifications when a car is getting too close to an object in front of it. Likewise, headway monitoring keeps a close eye on the distance to the vehicle ahead and issues an alert if the distance becomes unsafe – making sure drivers always have enough braking time to avoid a potential collision. There’s even a feature that can detect if a driver is nodding off behind the wheel and send an alert to snap them back to attention.
Safe and sound in the cloud
Our integration with DriverPremium also connects the power of cloud to TomTom Digital Cockpit. Users can record and store internal and external video footage on the DriverCloud platform. Videos are organized in the form of individual trips with an interactive map – all stored within an easy-to-navigate interface that can be accessed through in-vehicle systems or any web browser.
The DriverCloud platform can be used by fleet and logistics providers too, empowering companies to manage driving data from any device, assess claims data and understand driving risks at scale.
Users are in full control of the data they store on DriverCloud. They can choose to share their driving videos, safety warnings and location with interested parties like employers, insurers and family members.
Smart services lend a helping hand on the road
To make the journey even smoother, Driver Technologies has joined forces with other companies to power a suite of supporting services. Among them is DriverRoadside assistance, which lets drivers in the US get help for breakdowns and unexpected emergencies within 15-30 minutes.
DriverPremium gas rewards allow TomTom Digital Cockpit users to enjoy gas savings at more than 95% of US gas stations. Drivers receive exclusive discounts and easy access to a nationwide network of gas pricing information and deals.
