We take great care in selecting people who are ready to help us engineer the smartest map on the planet. You’re now looking at our process for technical roles, like software engineering. Note that it may vary slightly depending on the particular role and level, but no matter what, your recruiter will walk you through it step by step.

HOW WE HIRE
Start your journey with us
01
Your application
Found the role for you to make an impact? Great! We’ll review your application to understand your background and see how it aligns with what we’re building at TomTom.
02
First call
If your profile looks like a match, one of our recruiters will reach out. We’ll talk about your experience, motivations and expectations, and answer any initial questions you might have.
03
Optional technical assessment
Depending on the role, you might receive a short online coding task. It’s a chance to showcase how you think and code, and it helps us understand your technical baseline before the interviews.
04
Technical interview
You’ll have a one-hour chat with an engineer or hiring manager. We’ll look at your technical and problem-solving skills, exploring how you structure your code and think through real-world scenarios.
05
Interview loop
Time to dive deeper. You’ll have 3–4 interviews, each with a different interviewer. We’ll cover topics from system design to leadership traits. It’s also an opportunity for you to get to know us better.
06
The final decision
Interviews went well? Excited about your new challenge and ready to get started? We’ll share our decision with you, and if all’s well, it’s all systems go – welcome to the team! We’ll start your onboarding.
