Imagine driving down a freeway, thinking of the perfect song to make the ride memorable, and being able to listen to it just by saying its name.

Amazon Music reimagines music listening by enabling drivers to unlock millions of songs and thousands of curated playlists and stations with their voice. Now, the music streaming service is bringing personalized content to TomTom Digital Cockpit users, ensuring they never run out of music to sing along to while driving.

A unique soundtrack for every journey

This service enables drivers to make use of hands-free music listening in a TomTom Digital Cockpit equipped vehicle, supported by Amazon Alexa. This means that they wouldn’t need to manually choose from millions of songs while driving but can simply use their voice to play any song they want.

To avail this service in the TomTom Digital Cockpit, drivers will need to subscribe to Amazon Prime or Amazon Music Unlimited. Prime members will have ad-free access to two million songs at no additional cost to their membership.

Those who choose the premium subscription service, Amazon Music Unlimited, will gain access to more than 75 million songs and the latest new releases. Drivers can then enjoy unlimited on-demand access to any song, without ads that disrupt the driving experience.

In tune with carmakers

TomTom Digital Cockpit provides vendors like Amazon Music a new way to bring their solutions into the cockpit. TomTom makes it easy for developers to get started, helping them with a comprehensive software development kit that includes powerful APIs, supporting documentation and code examples.

Consequently, carmakers can integrate a top-notch music streaming platform into their vehicles easily and quickly as part of the TomTom Digital Cockpit platform. Since the music feature is natively integrated into the vehicle’s infotainment system, drivers won’t have to use their phone to access this service in the car, making the user experience much more consistent than when mirroring a phone-based app.
