The Fiat 500 “la Prima” is Stellantis' first fully electric city car in Europe. With a 10.25” infotainment screen, full connectivity and a 320 km range, the all-new Fiat 500 is designed as the next generation of urban mobility.
Fiat needed the right partner for connected navigation and services so that drivers could get the most out of their connected vehicle.
In March 2020, Stellantis announced TomTom as a major contributor in the latest Fiat 500. Stellantis selected TomTom to have a single partner capable of providing the best user experience in each region around the world for connected navigation, merging on-board and online navigation, highly accurate maps and real-time traffic services. As a result, drivers enjoy greater safety and comfort combined with ease of use.
The Fiat 500 “la Prima” also features TomTom’s static and dynamic EV charging station information, greatly reducing range anxiety and allowing the Fiat Mobile App reservation and payment service to be integrated with on-board navigation. The large infotainment screen includes dynamic range mapping that visualizes the vehicle’s real-time range on the map, as well as the nearest charging station.
Drivers benefit from a seamless navigation experience, viewing all relevant information on the cluster display with integrated real-time traffic information that guarantees accurate ETAs, and EV Services that make it easy to find available, in-range charging stations along the route. The vehicle’s map is continually updated through a seamless over-the-air connection to provide an experience similar to a smartphone, without the risks of using a phone while driving.
The overall user experience is further enriched by a suite of TomTom connected services, such as speed cameras, advanced weather, online search and parking.
