Building a better world is built into our business
At TomTom, responsible business isn’t about checking a box or going an extra mile – it’s part of our journey. We believe in creating a better world. Our efforts are rooted in our values and vision, products and services, people and communities, and our business operations.
More than 3,000 people die in road accidents every day. Part of our mission is to change this reality, creating technologies that make driving safer – for both human drivers and self-driving cars.
As control switches from human to machine, the TomTom HD Map is delivering greater safety and comfort to every (automated) drive.
We help people, cities, governments and businesses collectively move into a world with less emissions from driving. Further, we are continually taking steps to reduce our environmental impact through responsible internal practices.
While our ADAS Map helps achieve 5% fuel savings on the road, we're taking steps to improve sustainability internally at TomTom.
We strive to create a diverse, open and inclusive culture where unique personalities thrive on each other’s differences. We are steadfast in our efforts to close the company’s gender gap, stimulate personal growth and foster one cohesive TomTom family.
Making a difference goes beyond our technologies at TomTom. We get involved in and give back to communities. Two key areas we’re active in are tech education and women in tech. Our aim is to foster a new, gender-balanced generation that is equipped with in-demand skills.
After launching a successful paid-time-off volunteer program in the Netherlands, we’re now working to roll out the initiative globally.
As an independent company, we’ve always made it our priority to uphold ethical business practices. We continue taking steps to improve and are transparent about our actions. Importantly, our strong belief in personal data privacy is reflected throughout our organization, products and services.
We don't identify users, show ads or sell information. We protect your personal data privacy, making great products to help you drive safe.
Supporting global SDGs
Based on our five focus areas, to increase our overall impact we’ve committed to supporting three UN Sustainable Development Goals: quality education (4), gender equality (5) and sustainable cities and communities (11).
