    What you’ll do
    • You’ll be leading an engineering team (6-10 developers). Your challenges as a team manager include:
    • Driving team performance and way of working, leading to reliable and predictable delivery of business value
    • As a line manager, leading team members on a growth path that maximizes their potential and unlocks high performance and impact using goal-setting and regular, insightful feedback. 
    • Establishing yourself as a credible technical leader in the team’s domain, able to also contribute individually.  
    • Ensuring effective collaboration between the team and stakeholders, including our product organization. 
    • Fostering a continuous improvement habit including regular inspect and adapt follow-ups. 
    • Staying on top of team health as evidenced by sustainable team dynamics and future-proof engineering best practices. 
    • Identifying valuable candidates to hire and further grow a diverse, resilient and high-performing team. 
    • Being an inspiring role model for our engineers. 
    What you’ll need
    • Good interpersonal skills, effective in engaging with and influencing senior engineers. 
    • Up-to-date, hands-on programming skills in at least one of C++, Swift, Kotlin, allowing to support the team by individual contributions when needed. 
    • Credible, senior software engineering experience in an engineering team setting. 
    • Passion to develop and learn engineering management skills. 
    • Passion to help others grow and succeed. 
    • Active listening skills. 
    • Empathy and ability to deeply connect with others. 
    • Strong sense of ownership. 
    • Can-do attitude. 
    • Senior-level software engineering background and algorithmic skills, strength in software system architecture. 
    What’s nice to have
    • Demonstrated experience leading a team of software engineers. 
    • Experience running and operating business-critical cloud-based services and APIs (Azure). 
    • Experience in SDK design and management 
    • Practical DevOps skills in distributed systems domain. 
    • Background in the navigation domain.

    We are Product Unit Directions. We develop software for in-car, mobile and cloud-based navigation applications, solving mobility challenges at scale and making the flow of people and goods on the road safer, easier, and cleaner.

    To achieve this and help tens of millions of people around the world, we provide useful information in the form of visual and audio cues to guide the driver along the route and decrease anxiety about being lost. We strive to give our customers a pleasant and safe driving experience, and provide tailored and optimized routes through APIs and SDKs.
