There’s new technology to figure out, new habits to adopt, new ways of planning trips. Soon, combustion engine vehicles will be a thing of the past, or maybe just playthings for motoring enthusiasts, and we’ll all be driving cars powered by electrons.
Indeed, there’s a lot to get your head around – our guide will help with that — if you’re completely new to electric vehicles, but you’re not alone. Globally, most people haven’t gone electric yet and still need to learn the ropes.
According to Our World in Data, in 2023, over 80% of new car sales globally are still of the combustion engine, fossil fueled variety. Countries like the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and China are ahead of the curve, thanks to strong government support, well built-out infrastructure and various incentives. Everywhere else in the world, however, is lagging. In the United Kingdom, just 24% of new car sales are electric, in the United States it’s around 10%.

Maybe you’re already driving an EV, and if so, great!
