    What you’ll do
    • Work closely with Product Managers, software engineers, map data teamsand UX Leadership Team to influence product definition, enrich and improve the core map experiences that TomTom ships as part of their product portfolio.
    • Participate in user research/customer success conversations to build a close understanding of customer needs.
    • Provide requirements for internal tooling around the cartographic design workflow
    • Work directly with developers to develop and maintain design systems
    • Work with cross-functional teams to help define the map renderer specification
    • Present and share work in a compelling and convincing way
    • Manage a team of UX designers and cartographerson different sitesand ensure their high-quality and timelydelivery
    • Hire, coach and motivate team members and guide employee development
    • Actively search ways to improve collaboration and way of working within the larger UX team
    What you’ll need

    To be successful as a Team Lead Design, this is the kind of profile we have in mind:​

    • At least 3 years of experience in leading a multidisciplinary UX team 
    • At least 6 years of experience in designing and implementing multi-zoom digital map experiences. 
    • Master’s Degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction, Cartography, Geography, GIS, or related field. 
    • Experience working with a variety of spatial datasets, including (but not limited to): road networks, land use, landcover, points of interest, buildings, public transit, system data, hydrological networks, elevation/terrain (DSMs, DTMs, etc.), and multi-source imagery.
    • Deep geographic knowledge, including familiarity with cartographic conventions and multi-cultural expectations. 
    • Expertise in visual/graphic design UX/UI principles 
    • Strong conceptual and verbal communication skills 
    • Great sense of empathy that allows you to make user-centric decisions 
    • Excellent leadership and coaching skills 
    • Ambition to help drive positive change 
    What’s nice to have
    • Experience in Automotive 
    • Experience with Lean, Agile and DevOps software development methodologies 
    • Experience with basic coding (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
