    TomTom is expending its Mobile Maps and Navigation SDK teams, so we are growing our mobile teams!

    You will be helping with implementing products for our mobile SDK, together with you our diverse and motivated teams of mobile engineers.

    What you’ll do

    • Design and develop our state-of-the-art SDK for the Android platform. 

    • Develop and share best practices for the full software development lifecycle; including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes and testing. 

    • Work in accordance with the Kanban Agile Methodology. 

    • Work in an Empowered Product Team. 

    • Work together with people from different locations around the world in a clean code environment. 

    What you’ll need

    • Two years of experience of Android development. 

    • Great knowledge of Java 8 (or higher) and Kotlin. 

    • Good knowledge of Gradle build system. 

    • Knowledge of Design Patterns and Antipatterns. 

    • Knowledge of SOLID and Clean Code concepts. 

    • >Two years of commercial software development experience.

    • Solid understanding of basic software development principals (OOP, algorithms, data structures).

    • Good understanding of software architecture patterns (GoF, clean architecture).

    What’s nice to have

    • Public cloud experience such as Azure

    • Knowledge of concepts like: DDD, TDD, BDD. 

    • Experience with open-source and open map data technologies and products. 

    • Experience with car navigation software design. 

    • Proactive, pragmatic attitude: building solutions over writing papers. 

    • Highly communicative English skills, both written and spoken. 

    • Passion for continuous improvement and experimentation. 

    • Desire to learn and expand your skill set.

    We’re Navigation, a product unit within TomTom’s Location Technology Products technical unit. We develop software for onboard, hybrid, and online navigation applications – used by hundreds of millions of people around the world. Using a Navigation Data Standard (NDS) run-time format, our software includes navigation domain logic for traffic-dependent routing, route guidance, map visualization, search, positioning, and machine learning-based predictions and suggestions. On our team, you’ll see your work transforming connected and embedded navigation around the world.
