What you’ll do
  • Work together in a team of engineers to put state-of-the-art map-making technologies into production as cloud services

  • Develop new features, maintain, extend and constantly improve our production-level code base and CI/CD pipelines, refactoring where necessary

  • Design and review code to ensure it is clean, reliable and modifiable

  • Develop libraries, tools and infrastructure for map production

  • Design, develop and deploy cloud services that are scalable in volume and scope

  • Enable the production of a highly detailed, up-to-date map for autonomous vehicles

What you’ll need 
  • Preferably master's degree in computer science

  • Experience with Java and Python

  • Experience with object-oriented design principles and design patterns

  • Knowledge of relational and spatial databases (Postgres and PostGIS)

  • Experience with cloud technologies with providers like AWS or Microsoft Azure

  • Experience with containers and their orchestration with tools like Docker or Kubernetes

  • Ability to participate in the development and delivery cycle, from analysis, through implementation, to deployment and maintenance in production (git, maven)

  • Experience with DevOps best practices and tooling for CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins)

  • Experience with writing clean, reliable and maintainable production code 

  • Eagerness to understand the bigger picture and context of a project or initiative within the organization

  • Eagerness to get research products and prototypes into production

  • A collaborative team player mindset

  • Being proactive, learning about new technologies, judging their value, and promoting their adoption when beneficial

Nice to have
  • Good understanding of mathematics, geometry and statistics

  • Experience with probabilistic-robotics (SLAM), Computer Vision / Photogrammetry (multi-view geometry, reconstruction, etc)

  • Knowledge about point cloud processing (PCL)

  • Experience in C++

  • Experience with designing distributed systems

  • Experience with large machine learning systems processing lots of data 

  • Certified expertise with cloud computing (Azure, AWS), micro-services, and containers
