What you’ll do
Design, develop, and/or modify in-house engineering applications and services for processing petabytes of sensor data gathered in TomTom.
Be part of an engineering team that works directly with its users and can see its software being used in practice daily.
Contribute to the process of continuous global map updates by processing hundreds of streams of data from our mobile mapping solutions, including sensors (360° panoramic cameras, LIDAR, GPS, IMU)
Work directly with AWS & Azure cloud services
Take part in a stark variety of software projects, from cloud-based backend data processing pipelines to mobile apps for direct use by operations teams around the world
Strong programming and problem-solving skills.
Experience with at least one of the languages we use daily: Java, C# or Python. Experience in more than one is a plus.
Experience with SQL databases (preferably PostgreSQL), schema design and query optimization.
Experience with Azure, AWS, Docker, Terraform, Ansible and other cloud-related technologies would be a plus.
Strong focus on code quality, clean architecture, self-organization.
High versatility and willingness to learn as you will be required to work multiple small projects that are written in different technologies.

We’re Maps, a product unit within TomTom’s Location Technology Products technical unit. Our team is comprised of over 2,000 people in 40 countries – all driven to deliver the most up-to-date, accurate and detailed maps for the hundreds of millions of people using TomTom maps around the world. Joining our team, you’ll help continuously innovate our map-making processes, create a real-time closed loop between detected changes in the real world and the users’ map, and build maps that will enable the future of autonomous driving.
