As an Engineering Manager you are accountable for the achieved outcomes of the teams you manage, the growth of the team members, the processes used in the teams, as well as the team health.
You take full accountability for everything falling in your teams' scope from architecture over ways of working to business outcomes. Your most important tool for delivering results is identifying growth opportunities, empowering team members to take ownership and coaching them to success and doing a little bit better every day.
Beyond helping your team being successful you show continual leadership by identifying opportunities and taking ownership for initiatives outside of your team's scope – both to have impact and as growth opportunities for yourself. You understand that a significant contribution outside your teams' scope can help deliver the impact and demonstrate the leadership expected of you.
You will be a member of the leadership team of the unit and will report into the unit leader.
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with a history in leading product teams and a good understanding of modern incremental and iterative software product development.
You have a solid understanding of both the business and product. This will help you to assess the impact of what the team delivers and take ownership for shaping the direction of the team and its systems in line with business objectives and strategy.
You are highly empathetic, an excellent communicator, a true role model for leadership inputs and principles, and enjoys helping others to be successful just as much as having individual impact.
You have strong technical skills and can cover for any temporary gap in the team if required. You mainly use these skills to identify, evaluate, and grow talent, and ensure the team is staffed well and moving in the right direction.
You will be a member of the team developing our digital cockpit software platform. The platform empowers OEMs to build and evolve their brand specific digital cockpit, on top of Android Automotive OS, through a set of robust, pre-developed, and user tested fundaments.
The team consists of a sales and business development manager, multiple product managers, a product architect, multiple engineering managers that will be your peers, software developers, and user experience designers.
