In this senior management position, you will lead and develop the engineering team and be accountable for the outcome achieved, you are responsible for the growth of all team members and able to demonstrate the ability of product design and delivery of a productive cost-effective result. You understand that a significant contribution outside of your teams' scope can help you deliver the impact and demonstrate leadership.
Review product team objectives for adequacy and consistency with product unit & corporate objectives.
Create and execute engineering plans to deliver customer commitments and product roadmap.
Analyse technology, resources and market demand; work closely with the project managers to plan and assess the feasibility of project plans.
Develop evaluation criteria that will serve to measure progress and effectiveness of engineering operations and evaluates team performance against stakeholder expectations.
Provide technical consultation to team leaders and Architects by reviewing product design and design changes.
Conduct monthly reporting of product team metrics and follow up on corrective action plans to resolve any outstanding issues related to quality, velocity and effectiveness.
Collect and review team and direct reports’ growth opportunities and training needs, align with other team leads and make a departmental training plan.
Be responsible for assisting in interviewing, hiring and coaching direct reports and engineers to continuously learn and develop themselves.
Promote and enforce a safe, healthy and balanced work environment in compliance with the labor laws, company policies and procedures.
Contribute to team deliverables on the technical level of a senior engineer as time permits.
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent education is required.
Minimum 8 years of work experience in the software industry highly preferred, including the minimum of 4 years of formal management experience leading a team of over 10 engineers, with technical leadership skills for problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Have extensive knowledge of software engineering practices and principles; with experience in automotive software is a big plus.
Be able to cope with change, shift his/her own and team’s focus and practices swiftly and comfortably.
Be able to communicate effectively with non-engineer team members, internal and external customers and suppliers; take input of others into account; think in others’ shoes.
Have ability to think out of the box and bring new ideas to the table; not afraid of challenging conventional wisdom.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, autonomy, proactiveness, commercial acumen, professional demeanor under pressure, comfortable with operating in ambiguity are essential qualities.
Strong communication and presentation, written and verbal skills in English.
Willingness to travel internationally (post-Covid).
