As Senior Writer and Content Strategist, you will be responsible for helping set and execute a cohesive content strategy that aligns to and advances business goals. You are a skilled copywriter with a deep understanding of and interest in technology and product marketing.
Your role is to create content that deeply connects with our audience and to constantly find new ways to engage our community. Your ultimate goal is to drive awareness, desired perception and lead generation for the TomTom brand. You will challenge perceptions, educate and inspire our audience to turn TomTom into a loved brand and a community that drivers, developers and prospective employees want to be a part of.
This position is part of the global marketing team, reporting to the Head of Content, and serves all key business units: Consumer, Automotive, Enterprise and Talent (Human Resources).
Help set and implement strategic direction for content marketing across TomTom’s B2B and B2C businesses.
Accountable for copywriting, concepting and content development/planning.
Work closely with team to develop and execute a content strategy roadmap.
Write/lead development of content that attracts, inspires and engages our consumers.
Outline approach across channels in collaboration with the different channel managers.
Work closely with consumer research for insights.
Mine and repurpose existing and new content to stretch its value, overseeing the creation and/or repurposing of existing content across a number of online and offline channels (e.g. social, display, print, radio, OOH). Brief new content creation either to the internal in-house agency or preferred external agencies.
Conduct regular content audits on all owned channels to ensure consistency, message relevancy and effectiveness. Make recommendations for updates and revise as needed.
Stay up-to-date on research and trends to ensure that content is relevant and innovative for the current marketplace.
A minimum of 7 years’ experience in copywriting, you are a skilled copywriter with experience writing to both B2B and B2C audiences in the tech and product marketing space.
Strong understanding of different channels, the role they play and how to best develop the right content specifically designed for each.
Identify new channels our audience uses.
Experience in working with insights to craft ideas starting from deep insights, human truths and consumer research.
Capacity to work independently and autonomously, self-identifying opportunities and prioritizing focus areas.
Strong relationship-building skills, with a track record in building a great internal network across diverse areas of focus.
Excellent organizational skills, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently, while accommodating competing stakeholder needs (both internal and external).
Experience in working for a global brand across multiple markets with localized content.
Experience with tracking and measuring impact of copy/content/creative campaigns
Native English speaker.
