Regional Sourcing Specialists are the Go-To person for the specific country or group of countries, with expertise in the local language, geographical know-how, mapping regulations and industry connections. Regional Sourcing Specialists are responsible for finding new sources (both paid and open data), partner/business development activities, community engagement, local market intelligence, local traffic expertise and high-level partner data quality assurance.
This position requires foundational knowledge of Maps-related processes and tools, affinity with business development activities and geospatial industry and knowledge in local regulations.
What you’ll do
- Scan market for relevant GIS sources, connecting to mapping authorities, identify local sales opportunities and technology start-ups and monitor local geospatial Industry.
- Supporting partner development and community engagement activities.
- Monitoring and tracking mapping regulation related changes and support in compliances. Support for map and product certification process.
- Understand map and traffic product quality and support map quality analysis for a given country (e.g. product testing).
- Provide input to maintain TomTom map updated.
- Provide support in maintaining meta information about the country.
- Applies expert local knowledge skills and GIS knowledge to become aware of the company, processes and customers.
- Local language expert, providing local language support.
What you’ll need
- Must be located in the areas of Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, or Rio de Janeiro
- Overall 2+ years experience, in relevant GIS, source acquisition and source handling experiences.
- Knowledge of GIS software such as ArcGis and QGis
- Ability of problem solving using existing operating procedures, standard practices, collaboration with regional hubs and external suppliers and partners, technical experience and local knowledge.
- Capable to understand map specifications.
- Country and region-specific understanding.
- Solid knowledge in negotiation, alliance creation and networking. Good communications skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel)
- Solid organization skills; ability to work independently is critical, as well as contributing to the TomTom team.
- Knowledge of source handling and Open data policies.
- English knowledge is mandatory, you should be able to communicate in English with colleagues from other locations on a daily basis.
- Higher education level
- Attention to details and quality sensitiveness

- Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
