We have a 12-week Fall, Winter, and Summer program for students enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or MBA program as well as a 6-month program for recent grads ready to launch their careers.

What you’ll do

As a Software Engineering Intern at TomTom you could tackle:

  • Satellite Image Recognition of objects, parking spaces, bodies of water and building footprints using PyTorch, Machine Learning, AWS GPU instances and needs decent math and TensorFlow experience to work on this project
  • Our Data Lake initiative where we will ask you to design an end to end solution for internal customers to upload huge geo-spatial datasets that will be normalized with machine learning and visualized using TomTom’s Maps API and H3 spatial index
  • Improve our open data search engine for internal GIS experts with knowledge of Django, Python, Amazon Elastic Search and basic networking and DNS knowledge
  • Improve our natural language processing engine to expand beyond support for English, French and Italian languages while it reads a million tweets a day in a production environment
  • UI/UX design and front-end development of websites and map editing and viewing tool interfaces
  • Building new ways to pull real time reports on specific map production efforts in efficient and attractive global reports
  • Building automated tests and deployment processes for new tools
  • Attending programming conferences, tech talks with industry experts and participating in our monthly company events

What do we ask from you? That you come with an agile mindset, the willingness to learn, and have experience with some of the technical requirements below:

  • Front end technologies HMTL, CSS, JavaScript, or UX/UI
  • AWS/Azure cloud technologies
  • Experience in backend software development – Java, Python, C++
  • Object oriented skills, AI and ML Understanding
  • Bitbucket/Confluence/Jira workflows
