The scenic Tamiami trail runs between Miami and Naples in Florida, right across the Everglades. This National Park is famous for its tropical swamp and its residents, among which the crocodile and alligator are most famous.
This unique landscape is the 3rd largest National Park in the US. The park is a haven for birdwatchers with over 350 species to observe and the only place in the world where alligators and crocodiles life together. The road is dotted with gateways to the wilderness and visitor’s centers to orient yourself. Many short marked hikes are accessible from the route and allow for close up views of wildlife. It’s not unlikely though that you will spot a crocodile or alligator from your car!
