Classic fell running taking in three of the high peaks of the Yorkshire Dales
Find Your AdventureLinking the three iconic Yorkshire hills this classic walking challenge makes the perfect trail run too and gives you a proper taste of the Yorkshire Dales. From the start in Horton in Ribblesdale the trail takes you up over the smallest of the three peaks first, Pen-y-ghent 694m before the long flat and undulating section passing the Ribblehead Viaduct brings you to the second and highest of the peaks, Whernside 734m. After running down through Chapel-le-Dale the third peak, Ingleborough 724m, with its distinctive summit ridge and plateau is the final climb of the day. A long and rocky descent back down eventually brings you back to Horton in Ribblesdale. From running through low level farm land to the open high level moor lands, along miles of dry stone walls and over countless styles this route gives you a proper taste of the Yorkshire Dales and all hat it has to offer.
