The Ramsay Round is an epic 24 hour fell running challenge involving summitting and linking together twenty-four 3,000ft mountains (known as 'Munros') in the Scottish Highlands in a non stop circuit. The terrain is rough and challenging, often un-trodden under foot, involving a mixture of rock, scree and heather. The challenge is to complete the route in under 24 hours however various time records have been set over the years, including in winter. The start and finish point is the Youth Hostel at the foot of Ben Nevis near Fort William. Competitors can choose to go either clockwise or anti-clockwise and select their own route between summits, assuming they are all visited in the correct order. The North Face athlete Jez Bragg broke the record in 2015 which had stood for over twenty years, finishing in a time of 18hours, 12 mins. Since then the record has been lowered further and there are now over 100 recorded completions.
