Oldle Appenzell Land

This tour through the green meadows of Bregenzerwald, the "Heidiland" near Maienfeld and the eastern Swiss cantons of Glarus and St. Gallen is a picturesque one. The only way to the top is on the Furkajoch. This small pass road, which is insignificant for traffic and thus has a wonderfully low traffic volume, also determines the appropriate time for this trip, as its winter blockade is often not lifted until the beginning of June. The tip: Not only in the Appenzeller Land, but also in many small farms in the Bregenzerwald, excellent cheese is produced, and a good snack bacon can be found there anyway.
