The spectacular Going-to-the-Sun-Road is situated in Glacier National Park, tucked in the northwest of Montana. Famed for its majestic and unspoiled nature the road offers an excellent experience of this National Park.

Glaciers, rugged mountain cliffs, lakes, waterfalls, lush cedar forests and meadows this scenic route takes in the powerful nature at its best. Driving the road is a thrilling experience. The road reaches a height of 2.036 meters at the Logan Pass and parts of the road are carved into the mountains, resulting into sweeping views of extremely steep drop. Scenic viewpoints and pullouts line the road so you can stop for extended views and photo opportunities. Keep an eye out for beavers, otters, mountains goats, big horn sheep and elk along the Going-to-the-Sun-Road. It’s less likely that you will run into one but this National Park is among the few places in America that is home to the grizzly bear.

Please note: Road closures can be frequent so plan you trip ahead. This road is generally fully open between June and October.
