300 days of sunshine, over 200 beaches along 1000 km of coastline: reason enough to take a road trip on this gem of the Mediterranean Sea. This scenic route traverses the mountainous island and brings you to the most idyllic beaches and captivating remnants of the past. Expect a sweet cocktail of unique flora and fauna, medieval villages and landscapes never-to-be-forgotten.

This scenic roundtrip kicks off in ferry-port Bastia and takes you directly to the breathtaking peninsula Cap Corse along the wild northern shore of the island. The twisting, turning and narrow roads take you to Calvi, home to Columbus. Here we recommend to take a boat tour to explore the otherwise inaccessible Scandola Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is famous for its strange red cliffs emerging from the crystal clear sea. After exploring Napoleon’s hometown Ajaccio this route includes a stop at the remains of a prehistoric settlement in Filitosa. On the island’s southern tip you will be amazed by the bedazzling ancient town of Bonaficio, which dramatically clings on top of a natural cliff. The stunningly shaped Rondinara Bay is often cited as the most beautiful beach in the world. Go check it out before gently making your way back to Bastia.
