The Stelvio Pass – Italy

The Stelvio Pass is one of the highest and most dramatic mountain passes to drive in the European Alp. No wonder why Top Gear voted this pass the best driving road in the world in 2008. Note: closed from November to May.

Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse – Austria

The Grossglockner High Alpine Road is one of the most visited drive in Europe. Halfway to the road, you turn left to discover an unbelievable view on the Pasterze Glacier and its permanent snow cover.

This 21.5km route goes up the north face of Mont Ventoux, starting from Malaucène. You’ll drive past the unique provençal vegetation and chapel of Notre Dame du Groseau from the Roman 12th century to get the best view on the grey mountain. Note: closed from November to April/May.

Trollstigen – Norway

All along this valley you can see UNESCO World Heritage Geirangerfjord, mountains, waterfalls, ocean views and a National Park, the Aursjøvegen Road. This 68-kilometre long road will keep your eyes wide-open every second since you have the feeling of being the main character of a movie ending scene.

This incredible road, which goes through eleven bridges, is both frequently used by local population and tourists and it would be highly understandable if you feel like taking several times in a row, like a rollercoaster.
