Get dizzy from the 46 hairpin bends on Italy’s most legendary mountain passDiscover this route
The Stelvio Pass is one of the highest and most dramatic mountain passes to drive in the Alps. No wonder why this is listed as one of the most scenic roads in the world.
Situated in Stevio National Park in the north of Italy, the Passo dello Stelvio takes in the gorgeous views of the majestic snow-capped mountains, dense forests and mountain lakes. But don’t be distracted by all the natural beauty around you, as the steep grades, exceedingly narrow roads and a total of 46 hair pin bends need your full attention. The road snakes up to an elevation of 2759 m. which makes this one of the highest mountain passes of Europe.
Please note: This route takes you first to Trafoi to enjoy the incredible turns when going back. Our advice is to wake up early to avoid traffic and postpone your trip if the sun is not out. Moreover, this road is generally open between May and October.
