Drive through an Alpine landscape painting in the south of GermanyDiscover this route
The Deutsche Alpenstrasse (or German Alpine Road) is a 515 km drive that snakes along the Austrian border from the Bodensee (Lake Constance) in the west to the Königssee in the east of Bavaria. This scenic road trip introduces you to the stunning Alpine landscapes and the uniquely rich Bavarian culture in the south of Germany. Beer gardens, lederhosen, green pastures, glimmering lakes, fairylike castles and traditional villages: Bavaria is sprawled with numerous charming things to discover along the way. This comfortable road includes stops at the Neuschwanstein Castle, the Rococo style Church of Wies and the Linderhof Palace. Moreover, the road provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature, we have included a stop south of Garmish-Partenkirchen where you could hike to one of Europe’s most beautiful gorges: Partnachklamm.
We advise to take your time for this trip as there is a lot to see and to do along the way.
