This scenic road connects Vancouver with the amazing mountains around Whistler. Take in the incredible views of the coastline, soaring mountains and dramatic waterfalls.

The first stretch of this scenic road trip encompasses Howe Sound’s mouth at the Strait of Georgia, providing panoramas of the spectacular fjords and idyllic islands scattered along the coast. The towering cliffs along the road delight you with the enchanting Shannon Falls, cascading 335 metres down, right in front of you. The road continues inland when the landscapes change into a winding valley of rugged mountains, glaciers and Alpine meadows. Different access gates to the Garibaldi Park are situated along the road, where hiking routes depart to fully experience the surrounding nature. Arriving in Whistler never gets bored, with its majestic mountains this place is the world’s capital of snow sports. Continuing on the road you will find pine forests changing into empty plains at Fraser Canyon. The trip terminates at the magnificent shore of Pavillion Lake. This remarkable fresh water lake is believed to be home to microbialites similar to the first life that has lived on our planet.

Please note: Driving the road can be dangerous in bad weather conditions, so check and plan this route ahead.
