An adventurous road trip is waiting for you in the heart of the Canadian badlands, northeast of Calgary. Beside its spectacular natural landmarks this route includes numerous treasured historic sites in which the Dinosaur play a key role.

The loop departs from Drumheller, starting with the northern part of the Dinosaur trail, which changes into the southern part after crossing the river by ferry. With its unusual rock formations and windswept canyons the landscapes around the Red Deep River are otherworldly. The loop takes you around the valley offering viewpoints of hoodoos, which are weird, eroded mushroom-like columns of sandstone rock. The region is sprawled with Dinosaur fossils that present references to the life of T-Rex and his friends in the past. Explore the iconic Alberta Badlands by foot on one of the marked hiking trails before making your way back to Drumheller.
