The Timmelsjoch (Passo del Rombo in Italian) curves along the Austrian and Italian border and is one of the highest scenic drives of Europe. In this little road trip thrill seekers can indulge themselves in narrow stretches and steep climbs with the backdrop of spectacular mountain panoramas. Infinite twists and turns connect the Passeiertal valley and the Ötztal valley and the road includes the highest border crossing of Austria. Make a pit stop at the Timmelsjoch vantage-point to enjoy an extraordinary 180 degree view of the dramatic mountainscape.

Please note: this high Alpine road is generally only open between the beginning of June and the end of October. Road closures can be frequent so check the conditions before traveling to this area. This road is partially subject to a toll charge.
