We are all familiar with the mind-blowing Great Barrier Reef, but the road that snakes along the shore of this natural wonder is equally sensational! This spectacular road runs from Cairns to Cape Tribulation and is characterized by the combination of two unique features: white sand beaches and Daintree, the oldest rainforest of the world.

The road takes you along a stunning coastline with quiet but paradise-like beaches. Take the cable-ferry across the Daintree River (look out for crocs!) and get ready for some overwhelming colors of tropical green. Driving the winding road across the heart of the ancient rainforest is a thrilling experience, but it gets better! Park your car and walk the 1200 meters Marrdja boardwalk loop to fully enjoy the deep rainforest. Climb up the Rex Lookout point for mesmerizing views over the Coral Sea before heading to Cape Tribulation, where the forest and the white sand beach meet.
