The Great Alpine road is the highest sealed road of Australia and considered one of the most scenic drives in the world. Situated in the heart of Victoria the 363 km road takes you from Wangaratta to Bairnsdale, in East Gippsland.

Throughout this scenic journey you will traverse the Victorian Alps which are famed for its mountains, valleys, farms, rivers and rolling vineyards. South of Wangaratta Mount Buffalo National Park appears on your right with its spectacular rock formations, waterfalls and lovely smell of eucalyptus. From here the road ascends into the mountains through the Alpine National Park with a, 1840 m altitude at Mount Hotham. Particularly this stretch is a winding mountain drive with lots of twists, hairpin bends and steep grades.
