Third party copyright policy

This policy sets out TomTom’s commitment to work with copyright owners where unauthorized content appears on a platform or website controlled by TomTom.

TomTom respects copyright law and appreciates the time, skill and effort copyright owners put into creating original works. At the same time, TomTom welcomes the enthusiasm of users who share their content with the TomTom community and values their right to freely share information that is not infringing anyone’s rights.

TomTom is committed to diligently work with all concerned parties to resolve issues or claims related to the unauthorized use of copyright protected content. TomTom will also give general information on its copyright usage practices to interested parties with which it has a commercial relationship.

If you have a general question about TomTom’s use of content that you have licensed to it under a bespoke contract, you can contact TomTom via your business contact.

If you believe that TomTom has used your copyright-protected work, or that your original work has been uploaded by a third party onto a platform controlled by TomTom, without appropriate permission, you can notify us using this form below. The information that you provide will help us assess your claim.

Once you submit the form, we will investigate your claim and take appropriate steps. Where appropriate, TomTom may notify the end user who uploaded the content, referenced in the claim.

Fraudulent claims will not be processed and may have severe consequences for you, including legal penalties.

This policy is not a complete statement of TomTom’s rights. It is solely intended to grant copyright owners a means to easily and quickly approach TomTom.

TomTom collects your name and email address to process this claim form; this data will be kept for a maximum of 10 years. TomTom will not share your data with any other parties, unless required by law, such as notifying an alleged infringer of your claim.
