The innovative approach to navigation technology pioneered by TomTom is protected by various intellectual property rights, such as patents, trademarks and copyrights.

TomTom International B.V. (“TomTom”) and its affiliates are a group founded by inventive people and continues to grow and move forward based on the intellect and creativity of a large number of engineers and researchers. As a result, we hold a large number of patents, trademarks and copyrights. They support our efforts to distinguish our business from competitors.

“TomTom” is a registered trademark of TomTom International BV. All our trademarks, service marks, trade names and trade dress are valuable assets owned by TomTom and are essential to protecting our brand identity. (When using our marks in publications, please make sure the TomTom name appears in combination with the appropriate generic term.)

Unless otherwise stated, the patented technology, copyrights, trademarks, database rights, and other intellectual property rights covering all software and content involving our products, website and promotional material are proprietary rights owned by TomTom or TomTom affiliates. Use of our intellectual property is exclusively reserved to TomTom and its official resellers and licensees. Any use of the TomTom mark and/or material (except when expressly authorized by TomTom in writing) is strictly prohibited.

TomTom has specific guidelines for the use of its intellectual property. If you would like to use any TomTom trademarks, service marks or images in promotional, instructional, or reference material or have any questions concerning the use of the TomTom brand or copyrighted or patented material, submit your detailed request in writing to Legal@tomtom.com.
