Step 1. Download and unpack the ZIP file
Step 2. Make sure your current version of Navigator is not running
Step 3. Install the application, then install the GPS driver


  • You do not need to uninstall your current version.
  • On an empty machine (e.g. after a hard reset), you do not need to install a previous version before you install this upgrade (but you DO need to install voice prompts and maps)
  • If you use Navman hardware, you may need extra GPS drivers.


    • What's new in Navigator 1.53 + GPS driver 2.06:
    • Improved "warm GPS reset" management, preventing unnecessary GPS re-initialization (for example, after you disconnect your PocketPC for a few minutes)
    • Support for the new TomTom Wireless GPS (Bluetooth)

    What's new in Navigator 1.51 + GPS driver 2.0:
    • fixes a problem that can cause TomTom Navigator to become unstable, especially under the latest ROM updates and ROM revisions, such as used on the Compaq Ipaq 3970 or the Dell Axim.

    • DEMO option - makes your application pretend that you are actually driving along the route that you have just planned;

    What's new in Navigator 1.41:
    • Improved Route Planning - Better routes in less time. Furthermore, the "route" tab of your properties now provides some advanced control over the way routes are calculated. click here for details.

    What's new in Navigator 1.40:
    • Add your own Points of Interest (POI) - You can now create and maintain your own POI databases, using the new "Add as Point of Interest" option available throughout the application (e.g. when you tap & hold a location in the map view).
    • New "Next Highway" option - When enabled, the Navigator view will always show the name of the first highway or highway exit you will encounter in the top right corner. In some situations, simply knowing you need to "get on the M-23" can be far more useful than any amount of "turn left, turn right" instructions.
    • New "Recalculate" option - When you veer off the planned route, Navigator will initially try to get you back on route; only after a while will it assume you really want to take another route. Tapping this new icon will force Navigator to immediately plan a new route.
    • Other new options - Some useful new icons were added to the Navigator menu that allow you to quickly enable or disable P.O.I. display or active guidance. click here for details.
    • Plug-in POI databases - Many free "plug-in Point-of-Interest databases are now available for use in TomTom Navigator, made by users of our RoutePlanner and Citymaps products.
