Sydney, September 8th 2009 – Today, TomTom announced two new flagship models, the TomTom GO 750 and TomTom GO 950. Both the GO 950 and GO 750 combine TomTom’s leading IQ Routes™ technology with a stylish design and an optimised user interface. Full attention has been paid to the integration of TomTom’s routing technologies into the user interface of the device, making it more intuitive and easier to operate.
“The new TomTom GO range demonstrates why TomTom is the leader in portable navigation,” said Chris Kearney, Marketing Manager TomTom Australia and New Zealand. “The TomTom GO 750 and 950 build on the TomTom GO premium experience with voice command control and superb new design and interface. Style and Function
The new TomTom GO 750 and GO 950 both feature voice command and control, allowing users to operate their device by using their voice. Over 100 tasks can be activated by voice, such as planning a route, changing preferences or making a call. This means drivers can keep their eyes focused on the road and their hands on the wheel, contributing to road safety. In addition, both new models have an enhanced speaker, which ensures clear voice instructions and improved hands free calling.
The TomTom GO range incorporates a new stylish design and docking solution. The Active Dock has been designed for a premium experience with a smooth locking mechanism and integrated power connector.
Both new models feature enhanced graphics displaying smoother navigation screens for a premium driving experience.
The planning menu has been redesigned to clearly show the benefits of using TomTom IQ Routes, with route plans clearly showing expected delays.
On top of this, new menus including a frequent destinations menu have been added to calculate a route to a frequently visited destination easier and faster. Finally, an Eco Routes option has been added to the route options menu, so drivers may select the most fuel-efficient route to help reduce their impact on the environment.
Increased map coverage
The TomTom GO 950 features more maps than ever before, including Malta, Greece and Turkey for the first time. In addition, both the GO 750 and GO 950 offer TomTom’s unique Map Share™ technology which allows users to make instant changes to the map and share these with others through TomTom HOME, TomTom’s free desktop application.
