TomTom scoops ‘Gadget You Can’t Live Without’ Award at T3 Awards 2008

London, 13 October 2008 – TomTom has announced that it received the coveted ‘Gadget You Can’t Live Without’ Award at the UK T3 Awards 2008 for its top-of-the-range portable navigation device, the TomTom GO 930 Traffic. The award was received at an impressive ceremony on the evening of Thursday 9 October at the Intercontinental Hotel, London.

The awards were sponsored by TomTom’s main competitor, Garmin.

The TomTom GO 930 Traffic beat a notable array of brands to take the award:

    • Apple iPhone
    • Sky+
    • Nintendo Wii
    • Sony PS3

T3’s Editor, Michael Brook, commented: “Results like these are the reason we felt it was so important to include reader-voted categories in our awards. You might see stories about sat nav gaffes in the press, but the fact is that these are almost always down to human error and GPS systems are an indispensable piece of kit for many drivers.”

CEO of TomTom, Harold Goddijn, added, “We’re delighted to have won this prestigious award against such incredible competition in the category. It proves that satellite navigation has come such a long way in just a few years, literally to become a gadget that consumers cannot live without.”
