The best traffic information available

Almost all of the current traffic information (including online, radio, SMS, teletext) in the Netherlands comes from the same source: ‘detection loops’ in the Dutch road network that track traffic jams. These detection loops cover only a small part of roads in the Netherlands. TomTom HD Traffic information uses, on top of this, a number of other sources to gather traffic information, like data from Vodafone mobile phone users and connected TomTom devices on the road. This way it provides information on up to ten times more roads, in total 23,000 kilometers in the Netherlands, including secondary roads. The images below illustrate this difference.

The HD Traffic service is integrated in the TomTom ONE XL Europe HD Traffic and the GO 930 HD Traffic and with the TomTom HD Traffic Receiver is available on the TomTom GO 30 series, GO 20 series, the ONE XL and ONE 3rd edition. Using one of these TomTom devices with High Definition Traffic gives motorists the most accurate arrival time and possible traffic while on the road.
