Sydney, 7 October 2010 – TomTom announced the new TomTom GO range to the Australian market. The new TomTom GO range is completely redesigned and combines the latest and best design, hardware and software to deliver an unrivalled navigation experience.

“The TomTom GO range is the pinnacle of navigation and we are proud to bring the latest in GPS technology to Australian drivers. The new GO range delivers premium navigation to experienced drivers with a new ultra-responsive Fluid Touch screen and Easy Click magnetic mount,” said Chris Kearney, VP Marketing, TomTom Asia Pacific.

“Our new flagship GO range is the future of driving with our sharpest navigation experience yet,” added Kearney.

New Features

The new GO range is the first to feature the capacitive Fluid Touch screen which lets drivers pinch to zoom in and out of maps, or scroll through menus with the tips of their fingers. The screen responds intelligently and sensitively to even the lightest touch, making interaction more responsive than in any of its predecessors.

Screen clarity and brightness gives drivers a crystal clear view of the map and the superb speaker gives unrivalled audio output, delivering crisp and clear voice instructions.

For a quick start to any journey, TomTom has created the new Easy Click magnetic mount. Docking and undocking is now easier than ever – even with just one hand. In fact, simply holding the device against the mount glides the TomTom GO range quickly into place.

Superior Maps

All TomTom GO models contain the latest Whereis map of Australia. TomTom’s Latest Map Guarantee ensures that if a new map becomes available within 30 days of first use, every user is entitled to download the latest available free of charge.

TomTom releases 4 maps each year: Summer (Nov), Autumn (Feb), Winter (May) and Spring (Aug) ensuring TomTom users can always drive with the latest map.

The TomTom GO 1050 World features maps of Australia, New Zealand, Europe and North America, allowing drivers seamless navigation across over 50 countries.

Best Directions

TomTom IQ Routes™ uses billions of speed profiles contributed by TomTom drivers that give a detailed view of road speeds every minute of the day, every day of the year. IQ Routes™ enables the TomTom GO to route drivers the fastest way, any time of the day.

Park assist helps drivers locate the closest parking station to their destination, minimising travel times.

Advanced Lane Guidance clearly shows which lane to take at junctions so drivers won’t miss their turn. On the most difficult highway intersections, a realistic 3D representation of the junction keeps drivers relaxed and safe.

All TomTom GO models feature Voice Control and Bluetooth hands free calling enabling drivers to keep focussed on the road ahead. Safety Cameras, which alert to fixed speed and red light camera locations on the road ahead, help drivers to stay safe and relaxed. The Help me! Menu gives easy access to assistance and direct dial through to help when on the road.

Ease of Use

The superb new navigation software and user interface delivers seamless ease of use. Voice control makes commands and address input a breeze and the Easy Click magnetic mount enables drivers to mount and secure their device with one hand.
