Make a backup of your TomTom GPS device’s content – just in case
TomTom HOME is the easiest way to manage content on your TomTom device. Downloading and installing HOME is easy and quick. Once installed, just connect your TomTom GPS device to your computer by using your USB cable and turn it on.
Every time you start up TomTom HOME, it will automatically detect if your TomTom device is connected and offer you any available updates, check if your maps are up-to-date and install any new MapShare edits. Connect often to get the latest and the greatest in user-generated content!
If you have a GO 1000 Series, VIA device or all new GO range device you will need to download MyDrive support application instead.
For all TomTom GO, ONE, XL, RIDER and NAVIGATOR 7 devices, the system requirements for Windows are: Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 (newest servicepacks required) Pentium III or higher 256 MB RAM, 512 recommended Internet connection (Broadband - DSL/cable/LAN) for downloading updates, maps or services The TomTom HOME software is a 20MB download requiring 50MB of disk space when installed
For NAVIGATOR 6 devices, the system requirements for Windows are: Windows XP Vista or Windows 7 (newest servicepacks required) 500 MHz processor or better 128 MB RAM Internet connection (preferably broadband - DSL/Cable/LAN) for downloading updates maps or services Internet Explorer version 5.0 or higher

Yes, you can subscribe to TomTom Services via HOME. All you need is a valid credit card to make your payment for the paid services.
Your TomTom LIVE device receives live updates over-the-air to services such as TomTom Traffic and Fuel Prices.
TomTom LIVE Services is a bundle of real-time navigation services. Information and updates are sent straight to your device over the air, saving you time, money and stress. To take advantage of TomTom LIVE Services you need to have a LIVE connected device. Click here to view available LIVE devices.
If you do not have a LIVE connected device however, you can still subscribe other useful and smart services via TomTom HOME. Some of these services require instant updates (services such as TomTom Traffic™ or Buddies), so you will need a wireless connection set up via your mobile phone (for example via GPRS).
You can also receive extra updates for your LIVE Services subscription via TomTom HOME.
Yes, this is possible if you already have a GO LIVE connected device. On each of these devices you get the LIVE Services subscription for free for the first three months. Every TomTom device comes with a USB cable in the box. Just connect your TomTom GPS device to your computer with the cable. You will need to have TomTom HOME installed on your computer first, however. You can do this on our Download HOME page.
Whenever there are updates available, TomTom HOME will automatically ask you whether you want to install these as soon as you connect your TomTom device. When accepted, the download starts automatically.
Yes, you can be part of the TomTom community via TomTom HOME. You can upload data yourself to share these with other users via HOME. You can also download changes made by other TomTom users to your GPS navigation system.
For example, via TomTom Map Share you can quickly and easily make corrections on your map and share these with other users.
But also Points of Interest, Voices, Color Schemes and a lot more interesting services and features to personalize your TomTom device, can be downloaded personalized. See also Personalize your TomTom device for more information.
