If you buy a new TomTom device or smartphone app which includes FREE Lifetime Maps, for the life of your product you can download 4 or more full updates of your map every year. You will receive all updates to road network, addresses and Points of Interest. 


What does ‘Free Lifetime maps’ mean?

• Free – this means that there will be no further costs involved in updating the maps on your device or smartphone app. All updates will be provided free of charge.
  
  
• Lifetime – this is the useful life of the device, so means the period of time that TomTom continues to support your device with software updates, services, content or accessories. A device will have reached the end of its life when none of these are available any more. The useful life of the smartphone app means the period of time that TomTom continues to support the app with updates. 
  
  
• Maps – these are any full updates to the map that is pre-installed on your device or come with your smartphone app (Geographical coverage and feature support in the map will continue to match the original, as long as commercially available). There will be a minimum of 4 new maps released per year. You will receive all updates to road network, addresses and Points of Interest in these releases.

Navigation devices:

For Start 60 M and VIA 135 M devices:

To activate your Lifetime Maps, you will simply have to connect your device to an internet-enabled PC and create a MyTomTom account to register.
This will enable you to access all the map updates included in the Lifetime Maps service. We will send you quarterly service emails (as long as you have a MyTomTom account) to inform you when new maps become available.

For TomTom Rider (2013):

To activate your Lifetime Maps, you will need to install TomTom HOME on an internet-enabled PC, create a MyTomTom account to register, and then connect your device to your computer. This will enable you to access all the map updates included in the Lifetime Maps service.

We will send you quarterly service emails (as long as you have a MyTomTom account) to inform you when new maps become available.

For all other devices that are part of the Lifetime Maps Promotion:

1. Go to tomtom.com/map-promotion and complete the claim form within 90 days of buying your device 
2. A unique Lifetime Maps activation code will be sent by e mail with instructions of how to activate code within 28 days of registering
3. Go to tomtom.com/getstarted and set up a MyTomTom account 
4. Use your unique Lifetime Maps code in MyTomTom to activate Lifetime Maps on your device

Navigation app for iPhone/iPad:
The app comes with your Lifetime Maps activated. You don’t even need to create a MyTomTom account. You will receive an App Store notification when an app release is available for download. Each app release will include the latest map.

As we improve our maps they will grow in size. Future map updates will be provided as long as they can be distributed by the App Store.


Navigation app for Android:
The app comes with your Lifetime Maps activated. You don’t even need to create a MyTomTom account. You will receive a notification inside the app when a new map is available for download.

As we improve our maps they will grow in size. Future map updates may require additional storage space. If your smartphone does not allow you to add additional storage space you may be unable to install map updates.

Navigation devices:
You must purchase a new TomTom device which includes FREE Lifetime Maps to qualify for this offer.

For the life of your product, you can download 4 or more full updates of the map on your device every year. You will need a PC with Internet connection and a MyTomTom account to download map updates and daily map changes.

Lifetime Maps can only be used on one device and cannot be transferred to a new device or a smartphone app.

Lifetime Maps will be transferred to the new user if the device is passed on or sold.


Navigation app for iPhone/iPad:
You must have purchased version 1.0 or later of the TomTom Navigation app for iPhone / iPad to qualify for this offer.

For the life of your app, you can download 4 or more full updates of the map on your iPhone or iPad every year. You only need to update the app via the iTunes App Store.

Lifetime Maps can only be used by one Apple ID and cannot be transferred to a new Apple ID or to a new navigation device.


Navigation app for Android:
You must purchase version 1.0 or later of the TomTom Navigation app for Android to qualify for this offer.

For the life of your app, you can download 4 or more full updates of the map on your smartphone every year. You only need to have the app installed on your smartphone and we recommend downloading the maps over a Wi-Fi internet connection.
 
Lifetime Maps can only be used on one Google account and cannot be transferred to a new Google account or navigation device.
